Oneness is the perfect expansion
Of our inner reality.
Let our heart’s oneness only increase
To make us feel
That we belong to a universal world – family ,
And this world – family
Is a fulfilled Dream of God.

By: Walt Whitman

I
Flood-tide below me! I see you face to face!
Clouds of the west-sun there half an hour high- I see you also face
to face.

Crowds of men and women attired in the usual costumes, how curious
you are to me!
On the ferry-boats the hundreds and hundreds that cross, returning
home, are more curious to me than you suppose,
And you that shall cross from shore to shore years hence are more
to me, and more in my meditations, than you might suppose.

2
The impalpable sustenance of me from all things at all hours of the
day,
The simple, compact, well-join’d scheme, myself disintegrated, every
one disintegrated yet part of the scheme,
The similitudes of the past and those of the future,
The glories strung like beads on my smallest sights and hearings, on
the walk in the street and the passage over the river,
The current rushing so swiftly and swimming with me far away,
The others that are to follow me, the ties between me and them,
The certainty of others, the life, love, sight, hearing of others.

Others will enter the gates of the ferry and cross from shore to
shore,

Others will watch the run of the flood-tide,
Others will see the shipping of Manhattan north and west, and the
heights of Brooklyn to the south and east,
Others will see the islands large and small;
Fifty years hence, others will see them as they cross, the sun half
an hour high,
A hundred years hence, or ever so many hundred years hence, others
will see them,
Will enjoy the sunset, the pouring-in of the flood-tide, the
falling-back to the sea of the ebb-tide.

3
It avails not, time nor place- distance avails not,
I am with you, you men and women of a generation, or ever so many
generations hence,
Just as you feel when you look on the river and sky, so I felt,
Just as any of you is one of a living crowd, I was one of a crowd,
Just as you are refresh’d by the gladness of the river and the
bright flow, I was refresh’d,
Just as you stand and lean on the rail, yet hurry with the swift
current, I stood yet was hurried,
Just as you look on the numberless masts of ships and the
thick-stemm’d pipes of steamboats, I look’d.

I too many and many a time cross’d the river of old,
Watched the Twelfth-month sea-gulls, saw them high in the air
floating with motionless wings, oscillating their bodies,
Saw how the glistening yellow lit up parts of their bodies and left
the rest in strong shadow,
Saw the slow-wheeling circles and the gradual edging toward the
south,
Saw the reflection of the summer sky in the water,
Had my eyes dazzled by the shimmering track of beams,
Look’d at the fine centrifugal spokes of light round the shape of my
head in the sunlit water,
Look’d on the haze on the hills southward and south-westward,
Look’d on the vapor as it flew in fleeces tinged with violet,
Look’d toward the lower bay to notice the vessels arriving,
Saw their approach, saw aboard those that were near me,
Saw the white sails of schooners and sloops, saw the ships at
anchor,
The sailors at work in the rigging or out astride the spars,
The round masts, the swinging motion of the hulls, the slender
serpentine pennants,
The large and small steamers in motion, the pilots in their
pilothouses,

The white wake left by the passage, the quick tremulous whirl of the
wheels,
The flags of all nations, the falling of them at sunset,
The scallop-edged waves in the twilight, the ladled cups, the
frolic-some crests and glistening,
The stretch afar growing dimmer and dimmer, the gray walls of the
granite storehouses by the docks,
On the river the shadowy group, the big steam-tug closely flank’d on
each side by the barges, the hay-boat, the belated lighter,
On the neighboring shore the fires from the foundry chimneys burning
high and glaringly into the night,
Casting their flicker of black contrasted with wild red and yellow
light over the tops of houses, and down into the clefts of
streets.

4
These and all else were to me the same as they are to you,
I loved well those cities, loved well the stately and rapid river,
The men and women I saw were all near to me,
Others the same-others who look back on me because I look’d forward
to them,
(The time will come, though I stop here to-day and to-night.)

5
What is it then between us?
What is the count of the scores or hundreds of years between us?

Whatever it is, it avails not- distance avails not, and place avails
not,
I too lived, Brooklyn of ample hills was mine,
I too walk’d the streets of Manhattan island, and bathed in the
waters around it,
I too felt the curious abrupt questionings stir within me,
In the day among crowds of people sometimes they came upon me,
In my walks home late at night or as I lay in my bed they came upon
me,
I too had been struck from the float forever held in solution,
I too had receiv’d identity by my body,
That I was I knew was of my body, and what I should be I knew I
should be of my body.

6
It is not upon you alone the dark patches fall,
The dark threw its patches down upon me also,

The best I had done seem’d to me blank and suspicious,
My great thoughts as I supposed them, were they not in reality
meagre?
Nor is it you alone who know what it is to be evil,
I am he who knew what it was to be evil,
I too knitted the old knot of contrariety,
Blabb’d, blush’d, resented, lied, stole, grudg’d,
Had guile, anger, lust, hot wishes I dared not speak,
Was wayward, vain, greedy, shallow, sly, cowardly, malignant,
The wolf, the snake, the hog, not wanting in me.
The cheating look, the frivolous word, the adulterous wish, not
wanting,

Refusals, hates, postponements, meanness, laziness, none of these
wanting,
Was one with the rest, the days and haps of the rest,
Was call’d by my nighest name by clear loud voices of young men as
they saw me approaching or passing,
Felt their arms on my neck as I stood, or the negligent leaning of
their flesh against me as I sat,
Saw many I loved in the street or ferry-boat or public assembly, yet
never told them a word,
Lived the same life with the rest, the same old laughing, gnawing,
sleeping,
Play’d the part that still looks back on the actor or actress,
The same old role, the role that is what we make it, as great as we
like,
Or as small as we like, or both great and small.

7
Closer yet I approach you,
What thought you have of me now, I had as much of you- I laid in my
stores in advance,
I consider’d long and seriously of you before you were born.

Who was to know what should come home to me?
Who knows but I am enjoying this?
Who knows, for all the distance, but I am as good as looking at you
now, for all you cannot see me?

8
Ah, what can ever be more stately and admirable to me than
mast-hemm’d Manhattan?
River and sunset and scallop-edg’d waves of flood-tide?
The sea-gulls oscillating their bodies, the hay-boat in the
twilight, and the belated lighter?

What gods can exceed these that clasp me by the hand, and with
voices I love call me promptly and loudly by my nighest name as
approach?
What is more subtle than this which ties me to the woman or man that
looks in my face?
Which fuses me into you now, and pours my meaning into you?

We understand then do we not?
What I promis’d without mentioning it, have you not accepted?
What the study could not teach-what the preaching could not
accomplish is accomplish’d, is it not?

9
Flow on, river! flow with the flood-tide, and ebb with the ebb-tide!
Frolic on, crested and scallop-edg’d waves!
Gorgeous clouds of the sunset! drench with your splendor me, or the
men and women generations after me!
Cross from shore to shore, countless crowds of passengers!
Stand up, tall masts of Mannahatta! stand up, beautiful hills of
Brooklyn!
Throb, baffled and curious brain! throw out questions and answers!
Suspend here and everywhere, eternal float of solution!
Gaze, loving and thirsting eyes, in the house or street or public
assembly!
Sound out, voices of young men! loudly and musically call me by my
nighest name!
Live, old life! play the part that looks back on the actor or
actress!
Play the old role, the role that is great or small according as one
makes it!
Consider, you who peruse me, whether I may not in unknown ways be
looking upon you;
Be firm, rail over the river, to support those who lean idly, yet
haste with the hasting current;
Fly on, sea-birds! fly sideways, or wheel in large circles high in
the air;
Receive the summer sky, you water, and faithfully hold it till all
downcast eyes have time to take it from you!
Diverge, fine spokes of light, from the shape of my head, or any
one’s head, in the sunlit water!
Come on, ships from the lower bay! pass up or down, white-sail’d
schooners, sloops, lighters!
Flaunt away, flags of all nations! be duly lower’d at sunset!
Burn high your fires, foundry chimneys! cast black shadows at
nightfall! cast red and yellow light over the tops of the houses!

Appearances, now or henceforth, indicate what you are,
You necessary film, continue to envelop the soul,
About my body for me, and your body for you, be hung our divinest
aromas,
Thrive, cities-bring your freight, bring your shows, ample and
sufficient rivers,
Expand, being than which none else is perhaps more spiritual,
Keep your places, objects than which none else is more lasting.

You have waited, you always wait, you dumb, beautiful ministers,
We receive you with free sense at last, and are insatiate
henceforward,
Not you any more shall be able to foil us, or withhold yourselves
from us,
We use you, and do not cast you aside-we plant you permanently
within us,
We fathom you not- we love you- there is perfection in you also,
You furnish your parts toward eternity,
Great or small, you furnish your parts toward the soul.

O Goddess! hear these tuneless numbers, wrung
By sweet enforcement and remembrance dear,
And pardon that thy secrets should be sung
Even into thine own soft-conchèd ear:
Surely I dream’d to-day, or did I see
The wingèd Psyche with awaken’d eyes?
I wander’d in a forest thoughtlessly,
And, on the sudden, fainting with surprise,
Saw two fair creatures, couchèd side by side
In deepest grass, beneath the whisp’ring roof
Of leaves and trembled blossoms, where there ran
A brooklet, scarce espied:
‘Mid hush’d, cool-rooted flowers, fragrant-eyed,
Blue, silver-white, and budded Tyrian
They lay calm-breathing on the bedded grass;
Their arms embracèd, and their pinions too;
Their lips touch’d not, but had not bade adieu,
As if disjoinèd by soft-handed slumber,
And ready still past kisses to outnumber
At tender eye-dawn of aurorean love:
The wingèd boy I knew;
But who wast thou, O happy, happy dove?
His Psyche true!

O latest-born and loveliest vision far
Of all Olympus’ faded hierarchy!
Fairer than Phoebe’s sapphire-region’d star,
Or Vesper, amorous glow-worm of the sky;
Fairer than these, though temple thou hast none,
Nor altar heap’d with flowers;
Nor Virgin-choir to make delicious moan
Upon the midnight hours;
No voice, no lute, no pipe, no incense sweet
From chain-swung censer teeming;
No shrine, no grove, no oracle, no heat
Of pale-mouth’d prophet dreaming.

O brightest! though too late for antique vows,
Too, too late for the fond believing lyre,
When holy were the haunted forest boughs,
Holy the air, the water, and the fire;
Yet even in these days so far retired
From happy pieties, thy lucent fans,
Fluttering among the faint Olympians,
I see, and sing, by my own eyes inspired.
So let me be thy choir, and make a moan
Upon the midnight hours;
Thy voice, thy lute, thy pipe, thy incense sweet
From swingèd censer teeming:
Thy shrine, thy grove, thy oracle, thy heat
Of pale-mouth’d prophet dreaming.

Yes, I will be thy priest, and build a fane
In some untrodden region of my mind,
Where branchèd thoughts, new grown with pleasant pain,
Instead of pines shall murmur in the wind:
Far, far around shall those dark-cluster’d trees
Fledge the wild-ridgèd mountains steep by steep;
And there by zephyrs, streams, and birds, and bees,
The moss-lain Dryads shall be lull’d to sleep;
And in the midst of this wide quietness
A rosy sanctuary will I dress
With the wreath’d trellis of a working brain,
With buds, and bells, and stars without a name,
With all the gardener Fancy e’er could feign,
Who breeding flowers, will never breed the same;
And there shall be for thee all soft delight
That shadowy thought can win,
A bright torch, and a casement ope at night,
To let the warm Love in!

Ever thought what reality is in its core nature? What you stressfully call reality might be your own reality. To me, there are two things your reality gets triggered from: your beliefs and your actions. So if you aspire to revolutionize your life, review your beliefs, amend them sincerely. Your actions will arbitrarily follow them. Beliefs are actually the origin of your thoughts.

What we normally know is everything is fundamentally initiated from thoughts, but thoughts in actual fact, come from beliefs. Hence, your beliefs form your reality, your own individual beliefs together with accumulative beliefs from surroundings. To see the level of strength or intensity of a belief too is vital as to how much “grip” it has on a person, so as to figure out how difficult or easy it is for him to neutralize.

You must have experienced in your day to day life that events very often take place, particularly in our own circle, the way we perceive them in advance. If you believe that people around will treat you gently, they will. If you believe the world is too cruel to be kind towards you that will exactly be your experience.

If you believe your poor economic conditions will linger on for all times to come, they will hardly change. If you believe all days are not alike and the things will certainly change sooner or later, better time will knock at your door.

Let’s now try to dig out where your beliefs come from.

And we do not need to go too far. Much of the guidance or rather in full can be extracted from philosophers’, mystics’ and sages’ works. Let me simply offer you a few principles here extracted from such people’s thought-provoking, enlightening works.

On the top are early life experiences, those with parents, teachers and other commanding figures. It’s from them that we learn and develop who we are; how should we look at the things around; how do we relate to the rest of the world.

Secondly, beliefs developed in early life beget results and your experiences of life. No matter whether certain happening is compatible with your belief or not, you tend to find a way to balance that happening with your belief system.

Some emotional experiences not in alignment with what you want generate beliefs that are negative and hence can infuriate you making your mind focus on what should not happen. Instead, a positive approach on what your mind should focus is ‘what should happen and how’.

To acquire what you want, you are advised to concentrate on only what you want. In addition, you must have the belief that informs your mind to produce the results that are in harmony with that positive thinking.

Vigilant people weigh up their beliefs on the grounds whether they are helpful to the life they are wishing to create, rather than assessing their beliefs based on whether they are true or false.

A more useful strategy to substitute negative thinking is to carefully watch your believes and actions resulting from them. This practice will gradually result in sweeping away all your disempowering believes.

If you manage to stick to the above-mentioned practice, it will empower to pick up more resourceful belief that will endow you with a favorable atmosphere that agrees with your most wanted outcomes.

The foremost step suggested in substituting unconscious and non supportive belief is to actually discover what originally lies there in your beliefs.

Now the most sensible approach to dig out your core believes is to study and scan the results your actions are bearing. You may lie. Your results never do. Well, if you find you don’t like your results, examine the beliefs around those results.

Continuing with the same beliefs will merely be continuing to get the same results. “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them,” goes a famous statement once made by Einstein.

So the message is: Recreate your beliefs if you want to see the things happening differently onward.

Start and move from simple to complex. Do it bit by bit. Pick up first something small; one small part of your life you are unhappy with. Apply these tips. See the results, then move on to something a bit bigger. Good luck!

What I look at as the most amazing phenomenon of this present time is simply ‘The Internet’ that has unlocked an enormous door for everyone who wants their business to flourish, and flourish swiftly. That explains the reason why having a business nowadays is a lot easier than before. Just a small website can transport your voice, any of your products to the farthest corner of the world, and that too like a flash of lightning. Now there is little cost involved in the running of a business and making it flourish, because you are no more required to spend huge amounts of money on rent, employees and other things like that. The key to all your success is merely a website with which you can conduct all your activities from the comfort of your own home.

One of the basic parameters for judging the success of a website is the number of visitors coming to the site from all sources over a given period of time. We, in common terms, call it Website Traffic.
What a simple mathematics reveals is – more visitors result into more conversions, though this is not necessarily compatible with what the truth is. We often tend to ignore a few other important things.

The most leading item in this list is a focused content, which should be so tailored that it appeals to different set of visitors. Make concerted efforts to keep your content to-the-point. It is just as you would like to see content on another site that you stumbled into. So a strictly relevant and focused material is vital. The quality of writing is irrefutably a top-notch thing on which you should never be compromising.

Second, always care to offer original information on your website. It’s been seen that unique and original information throws a huge gravitational pull which ultimately results into attracting a huge number of visitors. What makes a website attractive to a visitor is the content it provides, and not just developing viral marketing tools and attractive affiliate programs. Unless your website is rich in content, the traffic spikes that result from your efforts will only be transient.

Now the question is whether it is really possible for anyone to create a content-rich website? The answer is a big ‘Yes’. Anyone can create a website that offers a rich, original and impressive content.

Now look, only a tunnel vision and a laser sharp focus can enable you to come up with attention-grabbing stuff. And for that purpose you need to limit your online content explorations by preventing yourself from wasting hours clicking your way from one site to another. Get focused only on websites and resources which you find directly connected to your own website’s theme. In shorter words, discipline yourself.

Another important thing is regularly updating or modifying your website’s content. You must develop a schedule to add content to your Website, and follow it. Just look around, you will find that successful people do not wait for inspiration before beginning their work. They, instead, develop a regular schedule to go for the task whatsoever, and they stick to it. Hence, whether you feel like or not, you should sit down and write and add content to your site to update it on regular basis.

One important area that always seems well settled in the progress of many successful individuals is goal setting. But my present article is not focused on how to set a goal. It is about its importance. I will dwell on how significant it is that you set certain goal in your life to first thrill it. Being just ambitious is nothing, since prosperous people have often been very articulate in sketching their route towards achievement. Putting in genuine efforts is something that involuntarily and automatically follows.

Can you deny that every individual in this world has shortcomings? You certainly cannot. At the same time, you must have observed that people around forget about the shortcomings of those who by setting certain goals and by pursuing them sincerely achieve them ultimately. So it is goal setting that can enhance and change your profile, your image in the minds of others. With goal setting you can overcome life’s shortcomings.

Once you have set your targets, you will see many doors opening to many opportunities. It is certain and you will see it happening. You will get support from people you least anticipated. And another miraculous thing you will enjoy is others will even start following you. Now you can realize how companies sometimes get partners. Having targets can lead you to the heights you might never have even thought of in the beginning of your career.

Why there are just few achievers is a question sorting out an answer to which is now not very difficult. It is for the reason that 95% of us have actually no dreams. It is a fact that most of us behave on stereotype ordinary pattern and hence end up becoming mum and dad in the long run. Let us now look at the remaining 5%. Research has shown they do have dreams but are unfortunately too lazy to remember them. They do not stick to them. Why? This is because they do not write them down. Naturally, they end up forgetting and deviating from their targets.

Goal setting, therefore, is a secret to achievement. Staying always thrilled by some idea or the other is what living a real life is all about. Writing down your vision is a manifestation of an intention that you do want to stick to it. This practice exhibits an element of intensity which is imperative in the accomplishment of whatever you dream of. How beautifully someone phrased this reality by saying: “Dreams do come true if they are dreamt intensely enough”. No matter if you do not achieve some of your dreams, setting goals itself is not less than achievement. It will at least move you much closer towards self actualization. Setting targets together with a little effort to stick to them is the only way to feel and sense the core spirit of this life. Your dream is your hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living.

Himself it was who wrote
His rank, and quartered his own coat.
There is no king nor sovereign state
That can fix a hero’s rate;
Each to all is venerable,
Cap-a-pie invulnerable,
Until he write, where all eyes rest,
Slave or master on his breast.

I saw men go up and down
In the country and the town,
With this prayer upon their neck,
“Judgment and a judge we seek.”
Not to monarchs they repair,
Nor to learned jurist’s chair,
But they hurry to their peers,
To their kinsfolk and their dears,
Louder than with speech they pray,
What am I? companion; say.
And the friend not hesitates
To assign just place and mates,
Answers not in word or letter,
Yet is understood the better;–
Is to his friend a looking-glass,
Reflects his figure that doth pass.
Every wayfarer he meets
What himself declared, repeats;
What himself confessed, records;
Sentences him in his words,
The form is his own corporal form,
And his thought the penal worm.

Yet shine for ever virgin minds,
Loved by stars and purest winds,
Which, o’er passion throned sedate,
Have not hazarded their state,
Disconcert the searching spy,
Rendering to a curious eye
The durance of a granite ledge
To those who gaze from the sea’s edge.
It is there for benefit,
It is there for purging light,
There for purifying storms,
And its depths reflect all forms;
It cannot parley with the mean,
Pure by impure is not seen.
For there’s no sequestered grot,
Lone mountain tam, or isle forgot,
But justice journeying in the sphere
Daily stoops to harbor there.
